Additionally, he volunteers at Hungry Mother State Park, where he leads a variety of nature discovery walks.
Randy talked about the fact that our area is one of the most biologically diverse areas of the world.
... He described the process and requirements involved in becoming a VA Master Naturalist. ... Randy brought information about a class starting on February 15. (Cost $100. Contact Monica Hoel at: [email protected]) |
Hardworking secretary, Gail G, presented the minutes from our last formal meeting in November for approval. Then, the always precise Judy Y, treasurer, gave an accounting of our finances.

Alpha Zeta is indeed fortunate to have so many talented women willing to take leadership positions!
Sara E closed the business portion of the meeting with announcements about the scholarship applications (download from the "helpful links" tab), which are due March 1, the April 28 Leadership Seminar at UVA-Wise, and a reminder that next month's meeting is at the lovely Crooked River Farm in Hiltons, VA.
We ordered lunch from the menu, and everyone was very pleased
with the delicious choices. Rain was a wonderful place for our meeting!

Here are some photos of the Alpha Zeta sisters reconnecting in the new year. What a joyful, loving group of friends!
Our special guest, Randy, is well known around the area, but as he put it, in Abingdon, he's best known as Mary Sue's husband! We are grateful that she brought him to speak to us.
